Good evening third grade falcon families,
Here are a few updates for the next two weeks!
Field Trip Friday: This week on Friday (January 19th) we will be going to SCRAP and the ReBuilding Center. Please make sure your child has a lunch, snack, water bottle, and jacket. We will be connecting to our Native American and Ecology units by discovering the importance of reusing!
We also need more chaperones for our February and April field trips! If you are available, please sign up here. If we don't have enough chaperones, I will have to cancel those trips. Thank you!
Projects: Native American projects are due next week on January 25th. There will be no presentations, just turning in completed projects. Students will have some time to share with classmates, but no need to plan to come in that day! If your child decides to change projects, that is fine. If they decide to take the test instead of a project, please let me know as soon as possible so I can get their study guide printed and given to them on Tuesday, January 30th. Thank you for all your help with projects!
Math: Our last two Math tests had low average scores, so we will be going through some review for the next week. The concepts students are struggling the most with will be addressed and we will go over each piece until the class catches up. For homework, you will see some worksheets instead of using the book for problems. Tomorrow will be Rounding and Place value. Thursday will be Decimals and Percents. We will take our next test on Wednesday, January 30th and see how our review has improved our math scores! If your child is interested in additional practice at home, here are some resources:
Conferences: Winter Parent-Teacher conferences are on Friday February 7th and Friday, February 9th. If you need to sign up or want to check the sign-up for your time, here it is.
